Story #1 - Samara at home with family, Eastern time: 6:00 pm
It is 6:00 pm now, and Samara is at home now talking to her family at the dinner table about her upcoming report at school. You see, Samara is in the 4th grade, and she is a little nervous about what her teacher told the class today. Mr. Harris told them that he wants them to do an oral report on one of their favorite things. "I am so nervous about doing the oral report, because the teacher says it means we have to speak in front of the class!" Everyone in her family knows how shy she is and that she does not like speaking out loud in front of people. "I do not even know what I am going to do my report on!" She told her family. Her older (and Samara thinks annoying) brother, Ethan, just laughed at her and shouted, "Don't be a big baby, Sam! You are such a scary cat!" She frowned at him and said, "Hush, Ethan, you don't know nothin'! I am not a scary cat!" I will show him, she thought to herself. "Now, Ethan, stop teasing your sister, it is not easy to talk in front of a big classroom full of students." said their dad. "That's right, I remember when a certain little boy was just as nervous to give his first speech in the 4th grade." said their mother. "Aaaw, that was a long time ago, because I am in the 6th grade now, and I do reports all the time!" Ethan said smugly. "Yes, but you are two years older and have had more practice, so cut your sister some slack! Samara, you will do just fine!" Samara was happy that her parents stood up for her, but she was still very nervous.
