Story #21 - Time to go home! Eastern time: Saturday morning, October 29, 6:15 pm
Emma's party was boomin'! There were kids everywhere dancing, laughing, and playing games. Samara was having the time of her life, and couldn't imagine going home now. So, she almost had a fit when she looked up and saw her mother standing in the doorway talking to Emma's mom. "Gosh! Why is my mom here, I'm not ready to go home yet?!" Samara said to her friend, Angela. "Time to go home, Sam, it is getting late." her mother said. Samara was becoming a little embarrassed at this time, because some of her friends had started to stare. "Mom, please, not in front of my friends." Samara said goodbye to her friends quickly so that her mom did not have an opportunity to embarrass her further. "Mom, let's go." she whispered under her breath. When Samara and her mother got in the car she started whining about why did her mother come so early to pick her up. "Early? 6:00 pm is not early, Sammi. You were supposed to call me around 5 pm!" Samara did not remember discussing a time with her mom, but it didn't matter because she was on her way home, while the rest of her friends were still having fun at Emma's party. "I just wish you would'a let me stay a little longer, gosh, all my friends were still there!" Her mother was becoming impatient with her whining and said, "Enough of the whining Samara, it is not going to help anyway, we are almost home." Samara decided not to say anything else to her mother for the rest of the ride home. They arrived home within minutes, and Samara started telling her brother about the party. After a couple of hours of talking and watching TV with her family, Samara was getting a little tired. "Well, guys, I'm gonna get ready for bed now, I am so tired after this long, fun day." she said to her family. "Okay, goodnight my little honey bunny!" her mother smiled and squeezed her goodnight.
